MORALIS & STÜWE

Formidable world/folk voice and guitar/oud duo Moralis & Stüwe showcase a wildly eclectic and eloquently emotive selection of stripped back songs from Eastern European and Middle Eastern diasporas.

Performing in Yiddish, English, Ladino, Hebrew, Turkish, Arabic and Romani, Marianna Moralis’ impassioned vocals are beautifully married to Knud Stüwe’s intricate guitar and oud playing.

Exciting and vibrant and diverse, the set traverses everything from gorgeous love songs, to centuries-old traditionals, to deeply affecting songs of longing, and joyous good-time swing, the intimacy of one string instrument and one voice adding to the emotional intensity.
